A Prayer for the Departed

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May their soul and the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
Amen.

May the angels lead them into paradise;
may the martyrs receive them at their coming,
and lead them into the holy city, Jerusalem.
May the choir of angels receive them,
and with Lazarus, who once was poor,
may they have everlasting rest.
