A Prayer for Those Who Mourn

Almighty God, Father of all mercies and giver of all comfort:
deal graciously, we pray, with those who mourn,
that casting every care on you,
they may know the consolation of your love;
through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Lord, you are close to the brokenhearted
and save those who are crushed in spirit.
Surround those who grieve with your tender compassion.
Give them strength to face the days ahead
and the certain hope that neither death nor life,
nor anything else in all creation,
can separate us from your love.
Amen.
