Closing Words and Blessing

Non-denominationalComfortingParentPartner / SpouseChildGrandparentFriend
As we prepare to leave this place, let us carry with us the love that brought us here.

We have remembered a life that mattered. We have spoken words of tribute and of farewell. We have stood together in our sorrow and found, perhaps, a measure of comfort in each other's company.

Now, as you go from here, be gentle with yourselves. Grief takes time, and it takes many forms. There will be hard days ahead, but there will also be moments of unexpected grace, a memory that makes you smile, a kindness from a stranger, a sense of closeness to the one you have lost.

May you find peace in the days to come.
May you find strength in the love that surrounds you.
May the memories you carry bring comfort rather than only sorrow.
And may you know, deeply and truly, that you do not walk this road alone.

Go in peace, and go with our love.
