Words for a Celebration of Life
Non-religiousUpliftingParentPartner / SpouseGrandparentFriend
Today, we do not simply mourn a death. We celebrate a life. A life that was lived fully, that touched others deeply, and that leaves behind a trail of memories so vivid they could light up any room. We celebrate the laughter, the stories, the traditions, the quiet moments and the grand ones. We celebrate the love that was given freely and the warmth that drew people in. Yes, there is sadness here. Of course there is. But sadness is not all there is. There is also joy, the kind of joy that comes from knowing we were lucky enough to share our time on this earth with someone truly special. So let us smile through our tears. Let us tell the stories that make us laugh. Let us speak the name of the one we have lost with pride and with love. For this is not a day of darkness. This is a day to remember the light, and to be grateful, profoundly grateful, that we had it in our lives at all.
